New Books, Old Books & An Update

I’ve been away from the blog for a while. My summer has been taken up with family holidays, spending time with my teenager while she is off school, day job commitments and a string of book events. Much like anything in life, I’m learning that different venues vary tremendously on arrangements they make for book events. At some I’m given a table and a box of books, at others they create wonderful displays like the one at Leicester Waterstones pictured above. It’s all a learning curve and part of the rich tapestry of writing life: getting out there to meet other readers and writers. The mixture of signings, festivals and book clubs this year have been great fun and I look forward to building on them with the following events in October:

2.10.15 Talk at HMP & YOI Hollesley Bay
14.10.15 Evening talk at Stratford upon Avon Library
26.10.15 Lunchtime talk at Rotary Club, Northampton

However, despite the distractions, I have also been utilising every spare moment to write and am happy to report that I’m about halfway through the next Will Jackman novel. This week I sent a detailed outline and sample chapters to my publisher and will be keeping my fingers crossed that they like the idea and perhaps it may form the basis of a new title for next year. I’ll share my news with you, as and when I receive it, but as the year settles down I plan to spend a significant chunk of September busily writing to see how much I can add to the new project.

I’ve also been mulling over ideas for re-publishing my debut novel, An Unfamiliar Murder. Do I self-publish, or traditionally publish this title through a publisher? I’m yet to make a decision, however I can say that it will be re-released in some capacity in 2016. Once again, I’ll report on this when I have more information set. In the meantime, I would like to thank all the lovely readers who’ve sent me messages and emails to ask me when it will be available again – I really appreciate your interest and support.

Thanks for reading my update. I wish you all a wonderful week.
