Feeling the Fear & Doing it Anyway (My 1st Podcast)

I’ve never been one to show off. Despite an excitable nature (according to my friends!), I tend to avoid the spotlight where possible. If I was in a band, I would be a backing singer.

So, it was with great trepidation, and a slight rash creeping up my neck, that I signed up to Skype yesterday evening and joined Damien as guest of the Newbie Writers podcast. We chatted about my book, newbies, writing, publishing…  And after a while, I forgot about the audience out there and had some fun.

So, my advice to any other writers out there who experience those pre-interview butterflies is – just go for it! It’s never as bad as you think and, like me, you might really enjoy it.

If you’re curious and would like to listen (or just have a giggle at my silly accent) then go to www.newbiewriters.com and click on Episode 17.

  1. You were fantastic! I loved listening in and finding out a bit more about Jane the person – loved the accent btw 🙂 Highly entertaining and Damien is so friendly he makes it easier.

  2. If you were scared or nervous, it didn’t show through on the podcast. You came out swinging and finished strong. The accent was a bonus. I think most “yanks” are reeled in by the accent. *clapping hands* Well-done!

  3. You did fantastic Jane. The accent reminds me of Olivia Newton John from the movie Grease. I know she was from Australia but you sound just like her. Now I have a voice to put with the picture and the book. The pieces are coming together! *Standing Ovation*
