Booktastik – A Promotional Site for Authors

I’m delighted to host a guest post today from my dear friend, Dionne Lister, on new ideas for book promotion. Over to you, Dionne:

Hey, Jane, thanks so much for letting me take over your blog today. I wanted to chat about promotion for authors. As a self-published author, and even those who are with traditional publishers, we all have to promote our own books to gain new readers. It can be a nightmare. First, all the hours we spend on social media, and then, if you want to take it a step further, you need to decide where to go that will be effective and affordable. There’s so much to choose from: bookblast tours, banner ads on other sites, and email services to reader subscribers.

There are a handful of places that are effective, and I’m here to tell you about one of them—Booktastik. I started it when the frustration of getting my books seen became too much. A couple of my other author friends and I were lamenting how hard it was to get promotion with the site that is arguably the leader in this area: Bookbub. If you manage to get your book featured with them, you make loads of sales, but they are usually booked out and aren’t cheap.

So I knew the demand for good places to advertise for authors was there, and, so, Booktastik was born. I wanted the site to be welcoming and informative, so readers not only get information about limited-time ebook deals, but we also advertise new releases, promotions and giveaways and we have a blog with some awesome author interviews as well as a section for vetted reviews.

Our subscriber numbers are growing daily and we have around 500 visitors to the site each day. A feature with us is only $10. We are new, but our goal is to be as effective as Bookbub one day, so that authors of quality books can gain the audience they deserve. And, if you love reading, why not sign up and pick the genres you love so you can receive the daily deals email. If you want to advertise with us, don’t forget to check the submission guidelines.

Well, Jane, that’s about it. Thanks again and it was great to visit!
